February 2022 Vedic Monthly Forecast

Planets transit in the Month of February

Mercury retrograde will end on February 3rd. Mercury has been retrograde since January 14th. The planet of communications, reason, making and decisions will slowly return to normal forward motion and its significations will also return to normal.

As Mercury heads towards the sign of Capricorn it will join Saturn. Mercury is under the influence of Saturn this month as Mercury transits through Capricorn. It gets closer and closer to Saturn, the planet of restriction and delay. So we can expect the beginning of Mercury to manifest a lot of the delays, especially applied to things like making decisions. Saturn is the reality check planet and when combined with the Mercury planet of rational thinking and making decisions it will make people humble.

Venus ended its retrograde period on January 29th. The significations of the planet of romance, compromise, agreement, and finance will slowly get back to normal as the planet returns to forward motion.

There will be Mars and Venus Conjunction from 11th Feb to 12th march. Mars combined with Venus puts the two gender planets together resulting in a lot of heat, passion, excitement and drama. But Venus has another problem to deal with. Mars and Venus are going to be in a planetary war and this planetary war starts in Sagittarius sign and it continues in Capricorn sign.

What is Planetary war? A planetary war or Grah Yuddha, happens when two of the these planets (Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus and Saturn) are within one degree of each other. What happened in Planetary war, one of the planets who is weak both as a signification and as a house lord, feels defeated, thus unable to support any of its significance and can never be stable.

In this planetary war Mars is the stronger of the two planets because it is in friendly sign of Sagittarius and exalted in Capricorn. Mars is the planet of force, but in Sagittarius it is very righteous. So it will not harm Venus as much. This war is fair and freedom giving. Although Venus' significance will not be fulfilled, still having freedom of your choice is a very big thing.

There will be a New Moon On February 1st in the Nakshatra of Sharvana. This New Moon is exactly conjunct with Saturn, the reality check planet. So this month to be very serious and ready to deal with realities.

The Full Moon on February 16th in the nakshatra of Magha.

There is kaal sarpa yoga that starts on the 23rd of February and it will be till 9th of March.
What is Kala sarpa yoga? This configuration happens when all the planets wind up on one side of the Rahu ( North Node) and Ketu (South Node) axis. Rahu and Ketu are the eclipse points at the intersections of the path of the Moon and the path of the Sun as seen from the earth. This is an unusual formation of planets. Basically it's an indication of some kind of an imbalance in someone's life. In other words all planets on one side of the zodiac with nothing compensating on the other side and the fact that the planets are captured between the Rahu and Ketu axis, indicates that the energy is being held back by some kind of strong karma.

This yoga is more normally employed in the analysis of natal charts. If some has this yoga in their natal chart, it means that person lives in uncertainty for most of their life.

On 4th Feb to 22nd Feb there is a conjunction of Saturn and Sun. So what happens is when a combustion takes place. The planet gets hidden behind the Sun and the Sun becomes all powerful. This combustion is generally expressed as frustration towards authority figures. But in conjunction with the Saturn also has influence on the Sun and this makes authority figures realize their mistake with time. The Sun will move into the Aquarius sign on the 13th of February.

Retrograde Jupiter For Each Ascendnt

Generally most of the people born with one or more than one retrograde planets in their birth charts. Retrograde planets act differently than direct planets. Retrograde planets need

extra understanding because retrograde planets do not give benefits as do direct planets. Retrograde planets show specific areas within consciousness indicated by the sign and house they occupy and along with the house they rule. These all are  the issues repeated in order to be fully resolved. When the issues are resolved then the person can move further.

What is a retrograde planet ?

When a planet is retrograde it appears to be moving backward in the sky. A retrograde planet  looks like it's going backwards in the sky but it is not. It is stationary in the sky and looks like it is moving back relative to the earth movement. Retrogression means reflection of things related to the planets. The Sun and Moon are never retrograde.

Generally retrograde planets are delayed things and do not give things easily. Depending on house placement and house rulership they delayed the things. You can understand this concept by thinking that they are not walking with you. They are just behind the pace of time and you need to wait for them to know what the planets signify and rules in your chart. In the birth chart each planet rules two houses for each ascendant except Sun and Moon. So any retrograde planet not just delays the things where it is placed but at the same time it delays which house it rules in your chart, and it also delays what they signify as a karaka in our life.

So what happened when Jupiter retrograde as a karaka, house placement and house rulership.

As a karaka (significator) Jupiter is the planet of hope, growth, opportunity, wisdom, belief, optimism, religion, marriage, children, higher education, and long distance travelling. All these things are automatically delayed for those people who have retrograde Jupiter. A retrograde Jupiter can cause the person to turn inward with their expression. They have different points of views of belief and religion. Therefore they may have conflict over their religion or spiritual beliefs with people around them. They have innate knowledge about the universe and they have good intuitive power. The placement of Jupiter and where it rules is the area the person is inwardly optimistic.  From a health point of view Jupiter is the karaka of the liver, and retrograde Jupiter gives problems with the liver.

The effects for Retrograde Jupiter for each houses:

First Houses: Retrograde Jupiter for the first house. It means your identity, your health, the way you deal with the world or gather information is retrograde. You may have poor health or weak liver as Jupiter signifies liver in astrology. You may have a question about your identity. You are not able to handle or understand people around you or you may be deceived by people. The retrograde Jupiter is not giving all the benefits and protection that you're expecting and may be delaying opportunity and luck in your life.

Second House:  Retrograde Jupiter for a second house. It means your money, family values, close friends, voice, security in life, and speech is retrograde. You may have problems saving money, at birth you may be delayed in your speech or not able to speak on time. You may have security issues, in other words not able to feel secure. You have questions about your family values or may not want to follow those. It is just going to delay the benefits of whatever you're expecting related to the second house and it may not be as grand in this helpful as you were hoping.

Third House:  Retrograde Jupiter for third house. It means your siblings, neighbors, communications, meetings, interviews, learning, short distance traveling that become more delayed than your expectations. Your siblings come late in life or there is much age difference between you and them. You are not satisfied with the relationship you have with your siblings. Your relationship with your neighbor is not satisfactory. You may have communication problems or be weak in learning or you take a lot of time to learn something.

Your relationship with your mother is not good or you may be a stepmother. You may have a hard time being peaceful inside. You may have problems with your vehicles. Jupiter in the 4th house is always good for buying property, for moving and getting support from family. But when it goes retrograde, whatever your expectations the results may be more delayed or the outcome slower than you expected.

Since 5th house is romance, retrograde Jupiter may give a marriage without license in some instances. Jupiter retrograde in this position should never gamble. Any kind of high risk investments in the stock market your expectations may not turn out as great as you were hoping for or the benefits and may be more delayed.

A co worker will not be helpful and try to take advantage of you due to your generous nature.

The native and the partner will want freedom and independence, but each will be met with unintended restrictions. There will not be the free-wheeling attachment hoped for. Since Jupiter represents marriage, retrograde promotes review or redoing ( second marriage). Jupiter rules honesty, retrogradation therefore could distort the truth between partners. Jupiter retrograde for 7th house means, what you're expecting from a partner or others, is not as grand as you are hoping or maybe delayed.

Eight House:  Retrograde Jupiter for the eighth house. Eighth house deals with joint ventures, financial settlements, taxes, insurance, deals with gifts, loans and death. Jupiter retrograde for 8th house may return tax money to the native, but it will also delay inheritances. Much effort is required to get insurance benefits and exhausting work may be necessary before policies can be written. There is some dissatisfaction in the sex life, although the native has an active sex life. The spiritual quality of sex never satisfies the deepest desires. Spiritual beliefs are not totally fulfilling, and there is a spiritual restlessness.

Ninth House:  Retrograde Jupiter for the ninth house. Ninth house represents higher education, guru, media, marketing, publishing, long-distance traveling and even legal matters. Higher education will be interrupted, but will be completed later. Education may be completed and not applied to the career. The native may attain qualifications as a teacher. Jupiter retrograde for the ninth house  gives a different belief system, may not be able to along with gurus and may lead different faiths. Jupiter retrograde results in the house and the expectations get more delayed. The results are a little bit smaller, and a bit delayed and are not as grand as you are hoping.

Tenth House:  Retrograde Jupiter for the 10th house of career reputation. Delay in career, you may face problems in career place, may have a double career, delay in promotion or need to do hard work for any promotion. Delay or difficulty in starting a new business venture. The results are a little smaller than you were hoping. So you might be more impatient and you might be wanting things a lot faster. There will be really great business and career opportunities, but the results of the benefits may be a little bit more delayed or a little bit more sluggish.

Eleventh House:  Retrograde Jupiter for the 11th house of  hopes, dreams, income and  wishes. All these things will be retrograde. Means you have difficulty in fulfilling your desire, expectations, and hopes and dreams. Whatever you're hoping for and expecting Jupiter retrograde may be delayed or the results are smaller than what you hoped. Your long-range goals and your ambition are not fulfilled on time. Having a delay in income, you are not satisfied with social networks, elder siblings will not be helpful as you are thinking. The results are a bit delayed and are not as grand as you are hoping.

Twelfth house:  Retrograde Jupiter for 12th house of isolation, jail, hospital, moksha, research, and bed pleasure. Jupiter retrograde is good for attaining higher wisdom, connecting for divine nature, meditation and research and for studying. The 12th house is more what's going on behind the scenes. Jupiter retrograde may also give some bad results depending on its house and sign placement. Sometimes your expectations may be more frustrated and Jupiter may not be as helpful as you were hoping.

Every planet rules two houses for each ascendant except Sun and Moon. For each ascendant Jupiter rules different houses.

Aries Ascendant: Jupiter rules your 9th and 12th house

Taurus Ascendant: Jupiter rules your 8th and 11th house

Jamini Astrology

Jaimini has become the second most widely used system of Vedic astrology in the world. Jaimini’s principles discussed in detail in the Brihat Parasara Hora Sastra. Technique used in Jaimini astrology gives remarkable and specific predictions using distinctly different methods.

The following are the major differences between Jaimini and Parasara astrology:

1. While Parasara astrology is most closely associated with the Vimsottari dasa system, Jaimini uses sign mahadasa systems. Each uses different dasa sequences and is calculated differently. These dasas are called Aries, Taurus, Gemini, etc. Chara, Sthira and Shoola dasas are the best known, though approximately 44 systems are used. For example, Chara is "movable" as its Sanskrit name implies and it signify major life changes as they occur. Sthira is read for death and illness, etc.

2. Jaimini uses padas as indicators in the signs. The best way to explain a pada is to illustrate it. Suppose we are looking for the marriage pada in a chart. The 7th house is the marriage house. Let us assume you have a Scorpio ascendant, so Taurus  is the 7th house.  The 7th ruler is therefore Venus and Venus placed in Aquarius in 4th house. This sign is ten signs away from Taurus (7th house).  Then count ten signs from Aquarius ( 4th house) to get the pada for marriage matters. Thus, the sign Scorpio is the marriage indicator for this chart. So issues connected with marriage and partnerships in general will reach fruition during the mahadasa or bhuktis of Scorpio sign dasa.

3. Parasara astrology uses certain "natural" planetary karakas. For example, Venus is the natural karaka for relationship and Mars is the karaka for siblings. However, in Jaimini astrology, the karakas can be any planet and they depend on the degree of the planets.
There are seven Jaimini karakas. They are judged in terms of the planetary degree placement, regardless of sign placement, from the planet in the highest degree to the lowest degree.

The karakas are, starting with the planet of the highest degree and they are like this:

1. Atma Karaka ( the planet holds highest degree) is the indicator of self. Atmakaraka planet the Own self, considered the strongest planet of all seven graha, and significator of the Soul, Self, physical appearance and vitality.

2. Amatya Karaka ( the planets holds the 2nd highest degree) is the indicator of helper of atma karaka. Significator of the hoard, collections of wealth, and career.

3. Bhadri Karaka ( the planets holds the 3rd highest degree) is the indicator of siblings.

4. Matri Karaka ( the planets holds the 4th highest degree) is the indicator of  mother and education, land property and peace.
